Utah basketball: Whipple earns Player of the Week honor

Utah's Kaylee Whipple has been named the women's basketball Player of the Week in the Mountain West Conference, after leading the Utes to a 68-65 victory at Colorado State.

Now that their bye's over, Utes head back to work

With home games against the league's premier teams and road games in some challenging places to win, Utah men's basketball coach Jim Boylen isn't putting a specific number on the games he believes his team should win.

No favorite yet among top teams

Even as the gymnastics season closes in on the halfway mark, no clear-cut favorite has emerged among the ranked teams. UCLA, Oklahoma, Stanford, Oregon State, Alabama and several others have had their moments, but so far no dominating team has emerged.

Shelby Moats Has 23 in Front of Utah Coach

Shelby Moats, a 6-foot-8 junior forward from Waconia (MN) High, scored 23 points to lead the Wildcats to a 64-48 victory over Litchfield. Utah, which offered him a scholarship last fall, watched him as Waconia improved to 15-3 and Moats is thought to be #1 on their list of 2011 prospects.
