LOS ANGELES -- USC senior Jessica Gysin and former Trojan Diane Copenhagen upset No. 4 qualifier Katie Lee Carter and Hayley Pavels (21-15, 21-12) to advance Thursday to the main draw of the 2009 AVP Crocs Tour Coney Island Open in Brooklyn, New York. The former St. Francis High teammates entered the tournament as the No. 20 qualifying team, opening with a two-set win over the No. 13 qualifier of Jean Mathews and Kimberly Vicknair.

M. Swimming. USC 2009-10 Men's Swim Recruiting Class Ranked No. 3.

USC's 2009-2010 men's swimming recruiting class was ranked No. 3 by CollegeSwimming.com. Head coach Dave Salo and his staff of Jeremy Kipp, Paul Davidson and Catherine Vogt turned in a large signing class that includes talent from abroad as well as at home. The Trojan coaching staff's women's recruiting class was ranked No. 1 by CollegeSwimming.com

USC midfielder Megan Ohai and goalkeeper Kristin Olsen have been called in to join the U.S. Under-23 National Team for competition in England. While Olsen has been on the U.S. roster for other international play with the U-23 team this year, this will be Ohai's first action with the U-23s.
