Southern Miss Golden Eagles

The Southern Miss baseball coaches and players will conduct a kids instructional camp and high school showcase this summer and limited space is still available for both camps.

Palmer lead the Golden Eagles to a sixth consecutive NCAA Regional, another 40 win season on the field and a 2.96 core GPA in the classroom for the 2007-08 academic year.

Coach Corky Palmer added left-handed pitcher Jeff Stanley and lost junior college pitcher Chad Poe who has elected to sign with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College middle linebacker Chris White is showcased in this ScoutTV video presentation.

"I really like Nick Saban," cornerback Gerald West said. "Me and him got along real good. He really shows that he cares and always asks me about my family and stuff. I also think that he's one of the best at coaching cornerbacks and I think I could learn a lot from him." West plans on attending his second Alabama camp on July 21 and he's looking forward to seeing the Tide play this season.

William Shumpert holds scholarship offers from Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State and Ole Miss. Mississippi State was the first school to step up with an offer and as a result the Bulldogs took an early lead, a lead that has continued to grow.
