PITTSBURGH--The third and final game of the Big East baseball series between Pitt and Notre Dame was cancelled due to rain. The game will not be made up.

PITTSBURGH--The Pitt baseball team continued its three-game series with Notre Dame Saturday afternoon at Frank Eck Stadium. After suffering a hard fought, extra-inning loss to the Irish yesterday, the Panthers bounced back with a 5-3 victory to tie the series at one game a piece.

The Pitt baseball team opened up a three-game Big East conference series tonight against Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. The Panthers put up a valiant effort, battling the second-place Irish for 10 innings before falling by a count of 5-4.

Now that four-star athlete Aaron Hayward’s film is making its way to college football coaches across the country the New Jersey native is seeing the interest rise. Previously, all people had to go by was game film, but not anymore.

Chris Lopes transferred from Brockton to the Tilton School before last year and reclassified, hoping to receive a better education and give himself a better opportunity for his future. So far he claims that the move has paid off in an academic sense, however it looks like it may pay off in his recruiting as well.

Tyree Watkins is really starting to heat up, picking up four more offers from some top programs recently. He also has a number of other schools on the line of offering from what he’s being told and could be a week or so away from breaking into the double digits. That is something he hopes to help himself with at the Under Armour/Scout.com Combine in Baltimore this June.
