Pitt routs Robert Morris, 77-53

Pitt's starting guard tandem of Ashton Gibbs and Jermaine Dixon hadn't exactly been shooting stars for the Panthers in recent weeks.

Young Colonials hold their ground against Pitt

For 10 minutes, Robert Morris looked like a team that could compete against a Top 25 team. And it wasn't veteran leadership that put them in that position.

Why is Jamie Dixon so stubborn?

Why is Jamie Dixon so stubborn? A few years ago,he insisted on Sam Young being a power forward. This continued for two years without any positive results. When in his junior year he let him play small forward where he wanted to play all along. We all know how he immediately thrived. Now we have Dante Taylor who I am sure does not want to play with his back to the basket, but Jamie insists whether it is at center or power forward. A recent interview with his high school coach indicates that Dante is at his bes

Following Pitt's win over No. 13 Iowa State, Rutgers and Brockport, Panther sophomore Alicia Talucci has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League Gymnast of the Week and freshman Meaghan Biros is the EAGL Rookie of the Week.

Ashton Gibbs and Jermaine Dixon led a mid-game surge as No. 25 Pittsburgh broke out of a tie late in the first half by scoring 27 of the next 32 points, and remained unbeaten against city rival Robert Morris with a 77-53 victory Monday night.

Buckeyes Offer Caputo

Michael Caputo is as humble as a young man as you'll find in the recruiting world. A few months ago, Caputo was just hoping that he would be a D-I prospect and now he is considered one of the top 150 prospects in the nation.

Koyack Talks Recruiting

Don’t expect to ever see a ton of updates on Ben Koyack. The five-star junior likes to maintain a low profile and doesn’t get caught up in the whole recruiting scene. Koyack did take some time out of his busy schedule to speak with Scout.com recently.

LiveBlog: RMU-Pitt

Last week Deadspin had a bit about trademarks and they brought up how Robert Morris likes to go as “Bobby Mo” at times. Yet the university does not own the trademark. Honestly, I never knew they went by that. You would think in the storied rivalry that is Pitt-Robert Morris, I would know these things. Liveblog [...]

Stache-less LB Coach

I am concerned that Pitt is slacking off on its ’stache quotient in the coaching staff. The departure of Tumpkin meant Pitt lost a fine pencil-thin stache. Hiring Scott Turner didn’t change things. Now Pitt went and hired another stache-less guy. 2010 will be [Bernard] Clark’s 13th season coaching college football. He most recently served as [...]

Late Time for Robert Morris

Usually a late-January or February non-con game takes place because ESPN or CBS wants to carry it. Pitt has had a couple of these in recent years. This year it is Robert Morris. Not sure if this is some sort of placeholder or to replace something that fell through. Whatever the reason, RMU Coach Mike [...]
