Missouri Students Association President Tim Noce (NOH'-chee) says having a live tiger at Faurot Field would increase school spirit and draw attention to Missouri athletics.

The Jayhawks, who play at No. 14 Texas tonight, are spending a second straight week at the top after being ranked first for most of the first two months of the season. The No. 9 ranking for the Wildcats is the program's highest since 1973.

After being honored as Mizzou volleyball's All-Decade honoree two weeks ago, former Tiger setter Lindsey Hunter was named Mizzou Women's Athlete of the Decade for her contributions to the program and the university from 2002 through the record-setting 2005 season. Hunter earned 42.7-percent of the total fan vote as she topped some of the most recognizable names in Mizzou women's athletics history. Football standout Brad Smith claimed the men's Athlete of the Decade award with 27.5-percent of the votes.

Missouri Basketball returns home to Mizzou Arena looking for its second consecutive Big 12 Conference victory as it hosts the Iowa State Cyclones in a rare 6:30 p.m. tip off ... Tickets are still available for as low as $14 and Mizzou Athletics will offer a special `Mizzou Meal Deal' at concession stands during the game ... The offer includes a 16 oz. soda, hot dog and box of popcorn for only $5.

Mizzou Basketball's March 6 home contest against the Kansas is officially a sellout. The game sold out on Friday evening, just moments after tickets were released for sale to the general public.
