Three years ago Moise Fokou was a walk-on for the Maryland football team following his transfer from Frostburg State. Now the established Sam linebacker enters his senior season looking to build on what has already been a productive career. Fokou started all 13 games in 2007, amassing 84 tackles, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception.

University of Maryland swimming and diving head coach Sean Schimmel has added assistant coaches John Pontz and Rachel Stratton to his staff for the 2008-09 season.

With the season opener just over two months away, the University of Maryland football team is halfway through its summer workout program. Director of strength and conditioning Dwight Galt has overseen voluntary training for 103 players in preparation for the start of preseason camp on Aug. 4. Emphasizing discipline, expectations and encouragement during the weekday workouts, Galt has been impressed with what he has seen through four weeks from the senior-laden squad.
