The University of Louisville swimming and diving team had a strong first day as the men are standing in first and the women second at the Purdue Invitational in W. Lafayette, Ind. The Cardinals won three races and two relays in the three day event.

W. Volleyball. Volleyball Advances in BIG EAST with 3-0 Win Over Orange

BIG EAST freshman of the year Lola Arslanbekova had a match-high 15 kills and an ace to lead the No. 4 seeded University of Louisville to a 25-20, 25-12, 26-24 win over No. 5 seeded Syracuse in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship Friday evening at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

M. Basketball. Pitino Previews Saturday's Home Opener against East Tennessee State

Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino and sophomore guard Kyle Kuric met with members of the media on Friday at the Yum! Center to preview Saturday's home opener against East Tennessee State in the Hall of Fame Showcase. The Cards and Buccaneers will tip off at 4:07 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall and the game will be televised by WHAS-TV in Louisville.

Louisville's Rick Pitino announced the signing of Russell Smith on Friday. Now, Pitino says the Cardinals are halfway finished with their 2010 recruiting class.
