Amid K-State football revival, questions swirl about buyout

MANHATTAN, Kan. | This renaissance of Kansas State football should be the stuff of fairy tales. An unpopular head coach is fired, a legend returns from retirement, and 12 months later the program finds itself reconnecting with a spectacular past. The team lost to Missouri on Saturday, but it could capture the Big 12 North championship for the first time since 2003, a feat few thought possible entering the season.

K-State game report

Key play: John Houlik broke up a Missouri pass in the end zone with the back of his helmet on a third-down play. The Tigers had to settle for a field goal. Key stat: K-State stopped MU on two of its three third-down conversion attempts.

Missouri thumps Kansas State 38-12

MANHATTAN, Kan. | Missouri won more than a football game on Saturday afternoon. Did more than end a 13-game losing skid to Bill Snyder-coached Kansas State teams and become, at 6-4, bowl eligible for a school-record fifth straight year.

Return of the LYNCH MOB?

MANHATTAN, Kan. - It will take more time for sure, but Kansas State’s defense is slowly returning to its aggressive, swarming style of play of a decade ago. Not “Lynch Mob” like quite let, but the defense has improved dramatically.

Recruiting: Whitehair Wanted To Keep Playing

One of the top offensive line prospects in the state of Kansas is Abilene's Cody Whitehair. The 6-5, 305-pound Whitehair is already attracting plenty of attention but the coaches interested will have to watch video and/or settle for watching him play basketball as Abilene bowed out of the Kansas high school playoffs last week with a 24-8 loss to Rose Hill.
