M. Swimming. Iowa Men Finish First Day of Competition

The University of Iowa men's swimming team finished its first day of competition at the Hawkeye Invitational at the Field House Pool. The Hawkeyes faced South Dakota State, Truman State and Western Illinois. After the first day of competition, Iowa is in first place with 102 points. Behind Iowa are South Dakota State (101), Western Illinois (66) and Truman State (43)

W. Swimming. Iowa Women Finish First Day of Competition

The University of Iowa women's swimming team finished its first day of competition at the Hawkeye Invitational at the Field House Pool. The Hawkeyes faced Northern Iowa, Truman State and Western Illinois. After the first day of competition, Iowa is in first place with 96 points. Behind Iowa are Northern Iowa (94), Truman State (79) and Western Illinois (57).

W. Volleyball. Hawkeyes Fall at Illinois

The University of Iowa volleyball team fell to fifth-ranked Illinois tonight at Huff Hall. The Fighting Illini fought off the Hawkeyes in three sets (25-9, 25-18, 25-18). Senior Megan Schipper picked up her 77th career ace in the contest to become the ninth player in program history to rank in the top 20 in career kills, blocks and service aces. Schipper paced Hawkeye offense with six kills while junior Mara Hilgenberg led Iowa with eight digs and 22 assists.

Jordan Price Gets Minnesota Interest

Jordan Price, a 5-foot-8, 160-pound defensive back from Eden Prairie, has helped lead the Eagles to an 11-0 record and a spot in the state semifinals against Mounds View Saturday night at the Metrodome. Price attended the Minnesota-South Dakota State game and previously watched the Gophers' face Air Force and Wisconsin. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Price to learn the latest on his recruitment.
