We have entered into the lazy days of summer. Long warm days filled with nothing on TV to watch except ESPN Classic games of the BUFFS. I was wondering what kind of season would the Buffs have? ESPN has five Big 12 teams in the top 25 this year! Surprisingly though the Buffs are not one of them. What do you think the Buffs final ranking will be and what will their record be?
I predict 10 - 2 with a final ranking of 17 in the Coaches and AP!!
Extra credit question: Will Rick Neuheisel bet on his new team UCLA? Will UCLA go to a bowl?
I predict Yes and NO.
Remember when Scott wouldn't get drafted if he chose CU? Because Texas is definitely the higher profile team? Let's see what the numbers say:
Number of Texas players chosen on the first day of the NFL Draft (rounds 1 and 2):
DRAFTED PLAYERS POS ROUND PK(OVR) TEAM
Limas Sweed WR 2 22(53) Pittsburgh
CU:
DRAFTED PLAYERS POS ROUND PK(OVR) TEAM
Jordon Dizon OLB 2 14(45) Detroit
Terrence Wheatley CB 2 31(62) New England
Wait? Let me piece this together... CU had a player chosen before Texas did? And more picks on the first day? And thats when we had another down year on top of a few horrible years? Now, to be honest, Texas did have more players drafted overall then CU did, but when you talk about profile, you have to admit that the first day of the draft is where the glory lies. Now that that stupid argument is put to rest, let's move on.
Now then,
CONGRATS to JORDAN DIZON for getting drafted way earlier then almost anyone had him going. That goes double for TERRENCE "NFL" WHEATLEY!!
Dizon may have been drafted by the Lions, which is a tragedy, but at least the Thanksgiving games are going to have meaning this year. Mr. NFL got drafted by the Patriots. Since Belichick seems to just pull out or develop quality CB's from you know where every year, I am pretty excited to see Terrence kill it next year. The sad part? Now we all HAVE to root for the pats again. Once they cut Daniel Graham buff nation was relieved of such a painful duty, but now here we go again.
Also, Tyler Polumbus has been signed by the Denver Broncos as an Free Agent. Cross your fingers and hope he develops into a great tackle for the hometown team.
UPDATE via Marc in the comments:
A couple of other updates Hugh Charles signed with the Cleveland Browns Tyson DeVree signed with the New England Patriots
Till next time, rough um up!
Because the Buffs look to have found a star in Ralphie V, who spent her spring game debut bucking off handlers and juking them out of their shoes.
Oh, and she can HIT
