After examining Alex Daniels' situation and talking with officials from Minnesota, UC athletic director Mike Thomas on Thursday cleared Daniels to play at UC this fall.

University of Cincinnati Director of Athletics Mike Thomas announced today that UC student Alex Daniels will join the Bearcats' football team and begin summer workouts in preparation for the 2008 season. Daniels transferred to UC after being dismissed last year from the University of Minnesota football team.

The BIG EAST Conference announced today the University of Cincinnati's conference opponents and game sites for the upcoming 2008-09 season. For the second year, the BIG EAST will be playing an 18-game league schedule. The format has schools playing each opponent at least once and three teams twice. The process started last season with a clean slate regarding where each team's single-game series would be played. This year, the 12 single-game sites were predetermined under the league policy that the site would be reversed if an opponent was played once last year and once this season.

After winning her second straight heat last night at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore., former University of Cincinnati track star Mary Wineberg has qualified for the finals of the 400 meters. Her time of 50.57 in last night's semifinal heat was the fastest among all finalists.

Utica Eisenhower QB Taylor Copacia burst onto the scene last year with a few great outings where he put up over 300 yards passing. In the offseason, he has worked hard to improve his game and today, it paid off in the form of his first offer.

Tyler Eifert wasn’t sure a Notre Dame offer was ever going to happen.
