The two brothers have also earned post-season nods from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association with junior Clancy Shields earning the "ITA Player to Watch" Award and senior Luke Shields earning a regional nomination for the "ITA/John Van Nostrand Memorial Award".

Ta'a has transfered from Auburn Riverside High School to Rainier Beach, home to his cousin Alameda Ta'amu - a 2008 Washington signee.
