Before last week's WAC Tournament, Boise State women's soccer coach Steve Lucas encouraged his team to find a way to extend its season.

Led by three Broncos with double-digit scoring, the BSU women's basketball team defeated Lewis-Clark State 84-64 on Sunday in an exhibition game at Taco Bell Arena. Jessica Van Hoogen (15 points), Julia Marshall (12) and Rebecca Kepilino (11) led the way in Boise State's only exhibition game of the season. The Broncos open the regular season Friday at 7 p.m. against Western Oregon in Taco Bell Arena.

Sunday was a landmark day for the Boise State women's soccer team, which completed its surprise run through the Western Athletic Conference Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Nevada in the championship match.

What's Happening - The Boise State men's cross country team as well as women's team member Shannon Porter will head to Eugene, Ore., this week to compete in the 2009 NCAA West Region Championships hosted by the University of Oregon. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Springfield Country Club.

The Boise State University soccer team fresh off its Western Athletic Conference championship run this past weekend learned Monday night that they will face one of the top four seeds of the tournament in the first round of the NCAA Soccer Championship this weekend. The Broncos (13-6-4) will play the UCLA Bruins (17-2-1) at 6:30 p.m. (Mountain) time in Los Angeles, Calif., in the first of two contests that evening. The tournament is being hosted at UCLA's Drake Stadium.

Idaho believes they have the team to take it to Boise State this year. The Vandals and Broncos battle this Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in Bronco Stadium in a key WAC battle for both teams. Here is a brief preview of the visitors from Moscow.
