TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — For the seventh straight year, the Baylor cross country team made the trip to the NCAA national championships.

Baylor freshman Brittney Griner was one of 50 players named to the Naismith Trophy Preseason Watch List announced on Wednesday, Nov. 18, by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.Griner, a 6-8 freshman forward from Houston, Texas, is one of just three freshman named to the 50-player list, joining Notre Dame's Skylar Diggins and Elena Delle Donne of Delaware.

Shanay Washington (Baylor) , Brittany Spears (Colorado) and Ashley Sweat (Kansas State) and were named Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Players of the Week by a media voting panel for games from Nov. 16-22. Spears (player) was honored for the fifth time in her career while Sweat (player) and Washington (freshman) picked up their first award.

Baylor concludes its regular season by playing host to Texas Tech Saturday, Nov. 28 in the Texas Farm Bureau Shootout at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. CST and the game will be televised live nationally on FSN.
